Our Philosophy

At Tifosi Football Academy, our grassroots development program (U7–U13) is built around one clear mission: to develop confident, intelligent, and technically skilled players in a fun, supportive environment. These formative years are critical, and our approach blends the proven structure of German football development with the player-centered philosophy of Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards.

By integrating key principles from German development models—known globally for producing technically proficient and tactically aware players—we emphasize:

High repetition of core skills in dynamic environments
Small-sided games to increase engagement and decision-making

Program Structure

Our U7–U13 pathway is carefully structured to support each stage of a child’s development:

U7–U9: Active Start & Fundamentals

Players are introduced to the game through fun, engaging activities that build basic coordination, balance, and ball mastery. Sessions are game-based, focusing on dribbling, turning, and 1v1 situations while fostering enjoyment and confidence.

U10–U11: Learning to Train

As players grow, we begin to introduce more structured technical development and simple tactical concepts. Small-sided games remain central, helping players improve awareness, passing, and decision-making under pressure.

U12–U13: Building the Player

At this stage, players refine their technical skills and begin to understand team concepts such as positioning, movement off the ball, and transitioning between attack and defense. Training remains challenging but always age-appropriate, ensuring players continue to enjoy the game.
